What is an AI Shift Prep Call?

An AI Shift Prep Call is a short phone call some Partners require after you book a shift. This call:

  • Makes sure you understand the shift instructions

  • Confirms you plan to work that specific shift

AI Shift Prep Call vs. AI Screener Call:

  • AI Screener Call (AI Coach Call):

    • Happens during initial position approval

    • Takes 10-15 minutes

    • Determines if you're approved for a role/position

  • AI Shift Prep Call:

    • Happens after booking a shift

    • Is shorter and simpler

    • Confirms you're prepared for a specific shift

How to complete your AI Shift Prep Call:

  1. Open the Instawork app

  2. Go to "My Shifts"

  3. Tap on your booked shift

  4. Tap "Call to confirm" or "Start AI prep call"

Note: If you don't complete the call, you'll get text reminders until the confirmation window closes. If you miss the window, you may be removed from the shift, and it may count as a missed confirmation.

Troubleshooting:

  • Phone number issues:

    • Use the phone number registered to your account

    • Check your profile information is correct

    • Log out and log back in to refresh your information

  • After changing your phone number:

    • Verify your new number is saved in your profile

    • Restart your phone

    • Check your phone settings allow unknown calls

    • Allow 24 hours for full activation

  • Other issues:

    • Ensure you have a stable internet connection

    • Update to the latest app version

    • Check device permissions for microphone access

    • Find a quiet place for the call

    • Contact Support through the Help section if problems continue
