Instawork values health and safety of its professionals and partners. In order to keep our professionals and partners safe from the risk of COVID-19 infection, we require every Professional to complete a health checklist when they 'confirm' the gig 24 hours in advance.
What will I be asked to confirm in this checklist?
You will be asked to verify whether you
- Exhibit any of the COVID-19 symptoms as listed in CDC and WHO guidelines
- Have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19
- Have been tested for COVID-19 and the result of the test
Why do I have to complete this checklist before every gig?
We want to ensure that all our Instawork professionals work in a safe environment and all their co-workers are healthy and don't exhibit any symptoms. We are in the middle of a health pandemic and the risk of COVID infection is very high. Your health changes daily so to maintain up-to-date information we require this information before every gig. All professionals will be required to complete this health checklist when they confirm their gig in the app (24 hours before the gig start time).
Why am I sometimes asked to complete the checklist when I am trying to book a gig?
If you book a gig within 24 hours of the gig start time, you will not be asked to confirm the gig in the app. In such cases, you are required to complete the health checklist before you book last-minute gigs.
What happens if a professional indicates that he/she has symptoms or has been in close contact with a COVID-19 patient?
If a professional indicates that he/she exhibits any symptoms or has been in close contact with someone who has been tested positive, then per CDC and WHO guidelines, we will then remove that professional from all future gigs over the next 14 days (without penalty) and encourage him/her to follow precautionary guidelines. During that 14-day hold period, we encourage the professional to get tested if their symptoms disappear and they feel fit to resume work.
What if a professional who is infected (or suspected of infection) has tested negative for COVID-19?
We encourage all professionals to make use of the government provided testing capabilities. Any Instawork Professional who is suspended from booking gigs because of health reasons can reach out to Instawork support (via the app or by calling 415-212-6464) to get their account reactivated if they test negative. CDC recommends that everyone who has been infected (or suspected of infection) should get themselves tested twice before resuming normal activities to avoid false negatives. Professionals will be required to submit their test records to confirm that they are healthy to resume work.
