Instawork does not take out any taxes from your paycheck. Instaworkers are 1099 Independent Contractors. At the end of the year, Instaworkers will receive a 1099 tax form in the mail. You'll need to file the 1099 tax form and pay taxes on your income.
In order to ensure correct reporting, your Instawork account MUST have a valid social security number and complete address.
We are not tax lawyers and we're not giving advice on how to handle your taxes. We simply want you to be aware of what you'll need to do at the end of the year.
We provide every Instaworker with the Occupational & Accident Insurance, which is deducted from your paycheck for each gig.
Additionally, a portion of the hourly pay from each gig will be applied towards membership in the Independent Contractors Benefits Association Inc.
