What happens if I’m running late?

You should inform the on-site contact, but you should avoid being late by all means.

Updated over 10 months ago

We understand that things happen but arriving late can lose opportunities for you and other Professionals.

Here’s how you can ensure you show up on-time

  • Review the shift details to ensure you know the location, time, and what to wear.

  • Plan ahead for inclement weather, traffic, and/or personal arrangements.

  • Finding parking and navigating to the exact clock-in location could take some time depending on the venue, so plan to arrive 10-15 minutes early.

I know that I will be late, what do I do?

The best way to repair a relationship is to tell your onsite contact, lead, or captain you’ll be late ahead of time. That way they can plan around your tardiness. You can find the on-site contact information on the shift details page.

Tardiness policies

When you choose to book a shift through the Instawork Platform, you agree to perform services at the scheduled shift start time. Most Partners report that if a Pro is running late for a shift, they prefer that the Pro message the on-site contact through the app to notify the Partner of their late arrival.

*On-site contact information is located on the shift details page.

If you do not contact the Partner through the app and/or check in to perform services by the agreed-upon start time, the Partner may mark you as a No Show or decline to allow you to work the shift.

Please note that Instawork’s 24-hour cancellation policy does not apply to Pros in this circumstance, so you will not be compensated with up to 4 hours of pay at the scheduled shift’s standard rate.
