Our Community Guidelines, which apply to all users of the Instawork app, make clear that Instawork has a zero-tolerance policy for discrimination and harassment. We do not discriminate against anyone based on traits such as their age, color, disability, gender identity, marital status, national origin, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic protected under relevant law. Any forms of harassment, including but not limited to verbal, sexual, or physical threats, should be reported to Instawork Support immediately and, in some instances, the local authorities.

Reporting harassment onsite

If you have experienced harassment or feel uncomfortable about how you were treated on a shift, follow these steps:

  1. When possible, tell the person or their supervisor that their actions are not appropriate or welcomed.

  2. If warranted, file a police report against the individual.

  3. Report the incident to Instawork Support via the app.

  4. Find your local agency and report discrimination or harassment.

  5. Contact the National Sexual Assault Telephone Hotline at 1-800-656-HOPE.

If you'd prefer to report the incident anonymously, you can send an email to help@instawork.com from an email not registered with your Instawork account.

Reporting harassment via the Instawork app

Many Professionals value building a network through Instawork, and we facilitate that community through the "My Network" function. However, if the conversation becomes inappropriate, here are the steps you can take:

  1. When possible, tell the person that their comments are not appropriate or welcomed.

  2. Remove the person from your network. They will not be able to communicate with you via the app anymore. Note: this does not prevent the person from working a shift with you or from reaching out to you off-app if you have shared your contact information.

    • Go to Profile > My Network

    • Select the person

    • Click on the 3 dots on the upper right corner and select "Remove connection" (see below for a screenshot)

  3. Report the incident to Instawork Support via the app.
