If you’ve worked 1099 shifts AND you’ve made $600 or more through Instawork during the year 2023, you’ll receive your 1099 tax form electronically through tax1099.com.
By Jan 31, 2024, you'll receive an email from tax1099.com (Subject: Tax Document from Garuda Labs, Inc.) with a PDF version of your tax form attached to this email. For your privacy & security, the form requires a password in order for you to view the document, the instructions are in the below section 'How to view 1099 tax form'.
If you didn't receive your tax form, check the following:
The email address in your app is valid (no typos, etc). To check, visit Profile > Settings > Account information > Email address
Check your spam folder. The email will come from tax1099.com and NOT Instawork
How to view 1099 tax form
You will be prompted to provide a password to access your forms. The 8-digit password is a combination of the first 4-letters of your name (on your form) and the last 4-digits of your social security number.
For example, if your name on the 1099 form is Mary May and your SSN is 788223456, then your password would be mary3456
If you encounter any problem in opening your electronic 1099 form, please check whether:
You have entered the first 4 characters of your name (in lowercase letters).
You have entered the last 4 digits of your SSN/ITIN/EIN number.
