Independent Contractors
For income earned providing services to Partners through the Instawork Platform as an independent contractor, Instawork does not automatically withhold taxes or other deductions from your pay. Since you’re providing your services to Partners as an independently established business, you're responsible for reporting and paying all taxes as may be required by federal, provincial, and/or local regulations.
Provided you earned $500 or more on contractor shifts in 2022, Instawork will provide you with a platform earnings summary on or before February 28, 2023
If you DID NOT earn $500 or more in 2022 from providing services to Partners you connected with using the Instawork Platform, Instawork WILL NOT send you a platform earnings summary. However, you still may be required to file and/or pay taxes.
If you have questions about your potential tax obligations, please consult a tax professional. Additionally, for more information about filing taxes as an independent contractor, visit the CRA website.

I worked both Contractor and Employee shifts. What should I expect?
If you used Instawork to provide your services to Partners as both an independent contractor and an employee of AWS Canada, you should receive both a platform earnings summary for earnings from services to Partners as an independent contractor and a Form T4 from income earned on shifts you worked as an employee of AWS Canada.
