At Instawork, we understand that flexibility and competitive compensation are key to attracting top talent for your shifts. Whether you're looking to fill an empty shift quickly or have negotiated a higher rate with a trusted Professional for their future shifts, adjusting the pay rate can be an essential tool.
There are three common scenarios for changing shift rates:
Important Note: Instawork currently does not support lowering rates for scheduled shifts. To lower the rate, you'll need to cancel the existing shift and create a new one at your desired rate.
Increasing rates for empty shifts
If your shift isn’t filled, you can increase the rate you are offering to attract more Pros to pick up the shift. To do this, you will click “Improve fill rate” from the shift homepage.
Choose the new bill rate you want to list and click “Save.”
Once you click save, qualified Pros will immediately be notified of the new rate.
Please note: Once a Pro accepts the shift, the new rate applies to all Pros on that shift, including Pros who booked before you raised the rate. To offer different rates to different Pros, you'll need to create a separate shift posting.
Increasing rates for multiple shifts
To increase the rate for future shifts, select the "Edit upcoming shifts" option on the dashboard homepage.
Select the shifts that need base rate increases. You can use the filters below to find the shifts you would like to change:
Shift name
Date Range
Location
Position
After making your selection, click "Increase rate" on the top right-hand side.
Then choose when you want the new rate to take effect. You have two options:
Immediately: With this option, all shift rates– including the rate for Pros who already picked up the shift–will increase immediately to the newly selected rate.
Only after a new Pro picks up this shift: With this option, current Professionals will keep the existing rate until a new Pro joins. We recommend using this when you increase the rate to boost fill rate.
Enter the new rate you want to offer and click “Update” to apply your changes.
I want to increase the rate for an individual Pro
Currently, rate increases apply to all Pros on a shift. To offer different rates to specific Pros, please contact Partner Support at partners@instawork.com for assistance.
