Finding the right shifts is key to making Instawork work for you. This article shows you how to search for shifts that match your schedule, location, and skills.

3. Browse the list of available shifts in your area

Tips for Finding More Shifts
- Check the app regularly, especially in the morning when many new shifts are posted
- Be flexible with your availability to see more options
Apply for more position approvals to qualify for different types of shifts Expanding your approved positions might also open up access to W-2 or 1099 shift types, depending on your qualifications.
Complete your profile fully to see all shifts you qualify for. This includes adding work experience, certifications, and references to increase eligibility for both W-2 and 1099 shifts.
Set your work radius wider if you're willing to travel further
Change your location or zip code in Profile > Settings > Account Information > Home Address to widen shift visibility. This helps especially if you're relocating or targeting shifts in a new area.
If you don't see shifts that match what you're looking for, try adjusting your filters or checking back later. New shifts are added throughout the day. For independent contractor (1099) shifts, ensure your profile is complete and includes positions you're qualified for. If you suspect restrictions, verify your eligibility settings in the app.
Shift availability is dynamic; consider temporarily widening your radius or relaxing your role preferences and then reapplying stricter filters later.
Double-check that your location and filters reflect your preferences to avoid mismatched notifications.
Enable shift notifications under Profile > Settings > Notifications > Shifts to stay updated about new opportunities.
