Breaks on Shifts

Updated over a week ago

As a business and Instawork Partner, you're responsible for providing breaks according to local labor laws and regulations. We encourage you to follow your existing practices and exercise common sense to support a positive work experience for Instawork Professionals.

Here's how to manage breaks on Instawork:

  • When you post a shift, we will let you know the breaks Pros will expect based on the scheduled hours.

  • At the beginning of your shift, clearly communicate to Pros what their break schedule will look like during the shift.

  • Pros will confirm their breaks when they clock out of the shift.

  • During the shift or after it ends, you can edit Pro break time in the timesheet.

  • Time for any unpaid breaks will be deducted from each Professional’s total hours worked on the shift.

💡Pro tip: Clear break policies help maintain high show rates and positive ratings from Instawork Professionals.
