After each shift, you should rate and provide feedback on your experience with your Instawork Professionals (Pros). This helps us understand who you want to work with again and who is not a good fit for your business.
Rate your Pros
To rate your Pros, you will click "Rate" and then choose one of the following options:
Add to Roster: Add this pro to your roster to give them priority access to your shifts and specifically request them again in the future
Okay to book: You would work with this pro again, but you don’t want to give them first access to your shifts. You cannot specifically request the pro again, but they will be able to pick up future shifts with you
Block: You do not want to work with this Pro again. They will not be able to pick up a shift with you again and they will automatically be removed from any future shifts they’ve already picked up.
Add to Roster
You want to add Pros to your roster who you really liked working with and definitely want to work with them again in the future. Adding a Pro to roster:
Enables you to book the Pro directly
Give the Pro first access to the shifts your post in the future

Okay to Book
Choosing this option means you would work with this Pro again, but they are not your first choice. You cannot specifically request the Pro again, but they will have the opportunity to pick up more shifts with you in the future.
If the Pro you worked with is not a good fit for your business, you can choose to Block them. Blocked Pros will not able able to pick up shifts with you again and they will automatically be removed from any future shifts they’ve already picked up with you. Blocking a Pro means:
They will not be matched with your business again
If this Pro has booked any of your future shifts, they will be removed from all of your upcoming shifts
We'll review your feedback and may follow up with you or someone on your team for additional information
Depending on the circumstances, we will remove the Instawork Professional from our network
After you rate your Pros, you will be prompted to add feedback on how that Pro performed.
Feedback is used to personalize your future matches based on your preferences. For example, if you give more negative ratings for “punctuality” than other Partners, we will overweight on-time arrival rate for your future matches. To get the best new matches in the future, it’s critical to give accurate ratings on all Pros.
Feedback is also consolidated and sent to Pros help them improve their performance on their future shifts. We do not share the source of feedback or specific comments (see image below)
If I block a Pro does it prevent them from picking up shifts with other businesses on Instawork?
No, blocking a Pro only prevents them from picking up shifts with your business. We understand that some Pros are just not a fit for your business, but are still great workers. Our team will review the reason for blocking and asses if further action needs to be taken on the Pro's account.
Can I remove a Pro from my Roster?
Yes, you can remove Pros from your roster under Professionals > Your Roster, clicking the three dots and choosing "remove from roster".
Can I unblock a Pro?
Yes, you can unblock Pros under Professionals > Blocked, clicking the three dots and choosing "unblock".
How are my ratings used to improve my future matches?
Rating Pros (block, ok to return, roster) will directly impact which Pros return on future shifts.
We also use your ratings to personalize your future matches based on your preferences. For example, if you give more negative ratings for “punctuality” than other Partners, we will overweight on-time arrival rate for your future matches. To get the best new matches in the future, it’s critical to give accurate ratings on all Pros.
Note that we review every comment, and use the insights to improve your personalized matchmaking. When in doubt, leave a detailed comment.
How will my ratings be used to give Pros feedback?
We share general performance feedback to Pros in the form of star ratings, as shown below. We do not share the source of feedback or specific comments.
In the future, we are planning to share categorized feedback so Pros understand what they’re doing well and how they can improve. This will be generalized and anonymized.
What happens when I give feedback on “what could be improved” when rating a Pro as “Ok to Return?”
The feedback will be pooled with feedback from other Partners and generalized before being shared with the Pro. We share feedback to help Pros understand their opportunities to improve and the things they are doing well.
For ‘ok to return’ ratings, there will be NO negative impact to the Pro’s avg rating, which is an input into qualifying for Top Pro status.
