Instawork matches the details of your shift with workers who will fit your needs best. We do this by analyzing a growing number of datapoints, including each Pro’s work-experience, qualifications, and certifications. We also use ratings to collect real-time data from shifts worked through our platform. When you provide ratings and/or feedback for the Pros who work your shifts, it helps us match your future shifts with Pros who have the experience and professional traits you like and who are a good fit for your business.
Rate your Pros
After you complete a shift, you’ll see an option in the dashboard or mobile app to rate your workers to let us know if you want to work with them again.
To rate a Pro, click "Rate" and choose one of the following options:
+ Roster
You have the option to save workers to a list, which is what we call a “roster.” These are the Pros you loved working with and definitely want to work with again. Adding a Pro to roster:
Enables you to book the Pro directly
Gives the Pro first access to shifts you post in the future

Okay to return
Choosing this option means you would work with this Pro again, but they are not your first choice. While you can’t specifically request this pro again, they will have the opportunity to pick up your shifts in the future. Marking a worker as “okay to return” also sends Instawork a signal that this person is a good fit and workers with similar profiles might also be a good fit for future shifts
Block
If the Pro you worked with is not a good fit for your business, you can choose to Block them. Blocked Pros will not be able to pick up shifts with you again, and they will automatically be removed from any future shifts they’ve already picked up with you. Blocking a Pro means:
They will not be matched with your business again
If this Pro has booked any of your future shifts, they will automatically be removed from those shifts
Instawork reviews your feedback and may follow up with you or someone on your team for additional information
Provide Feedback
Once you rate a Pro, you will be prompted to add feedback on how that Pro performed. This feedback is used to personalize your future matches based on your preferences. For example, if you continue to give feedback on punctuality, we'll continue to prioritize Pros who have a high on-time arrival since you've indicated that's important to you.To get the best new matches in the future, it’s critical to give accurate ratings on all Pros.
Feedback is also consolidated and sent to Pros to help them improve their performance for future shifts. Feedback is anonymized, and we do not share the source of feedback or any specific comments.
FAQ
If I block a Pro, does it prevent them from picking up shifts with other businesses on Instawork?
No, blocking a Pro only prevents them from picking up shifts with your business. We understand that some Pros are not a fit for your business but are still great workers. Our team always reviews the reason for blocking and assesses if further action needs to be taken on the Pro's account.
Can I remove a Pro from my Roster?
Yes, you can remove Pros from your roster at any time under Professionals > Your Roster. Click the three dots and choose "Remove from roster."
Can I unblock a Pro?
Yes, you can unblock Pros at any time under Professionals > Blocked. Click the three dots and choose "Unblock."
How are my ratings used to improve my future matches?
We use your ratings to personalize future matches based on your preferences. For example, if you give more feedback for “punctuality” than other Partners, we will prioritize matches for your business with Pros who have a high on-time arrival rate. To get the best new matches in the future and to further personalize your experience, it’s best to give accurate ratings on all Pros.
We also review every comment, and use the insights to improve your personalized matchmaking. When in doubt, leave a detailed comment.
Are my ratings or feedback shared with the Pro?
Feedback on Pros are anonymized and grouped with feedback from other Partners on our network before being shared with a Pro. We share the consolidated feedback to help Pros understand the things they are doing well, and their opportunities to improve
