Why are there overbooked/extra professionals in my dashboard?

While we ensure reliability of our Professionals, it’s also possible that they cannot make it to the shift due to unforeseen circumstances. Therefore, we book backup Professional(s) in advance to take the place if needed.

Am I getting charged for the paid backup Professionals?

You will only be charged for the paid backup Professionals if you decide you want them to work the shift.

If you decide to send the paid backup Professionals home, you will not be charged and we will cover the cost of having sent the pros. Just clock-in and clock-out them immediately so we can confirm they showed up for the shift.

What happens if I decide to keep the paid backup Professionals?

If you decide to keep the paid backup Professionals, share the clock-in code with them when they start, and share the clock-out code when they finish the shift. You will be charged for the time the backup Professionals worked. The same rate as the regular shift applies.

What happens if I decide to send the paid backup Professionals home?

If you decide to send the paid backup Professionals home, you will not be charged and we will cover the cost of having sent the backups. Instawork backup Professionals are aware they might be sent home if the shift is full and they will be compensated for their time.

Step 1 - Kindly inform the surplus Professional that because the shift is full and they booked the paid backup shift, they will be sent home at this time.

Step 2 - Share the clock-in code with the surplus Professionals so we know they are onsite. Instawork will cover the associated costs. The Professional will submit the sent-home code in their app. They may reach out to the Instawork Support team for further questions.

What happens if the paid backup Professionals were not a good fit for the shift?

If the paid backup Professionals showed up late or in the wrong attire, doesn't meet the shift requirements, or refused to work when asked, you can simply report it using the associated "send home" reasons. You will not be charged when the paid backup Professionals are sent home for not being a good fit, and the Professionals are disqualified for any compensation.
