You can manage your personal information, including email address, directly in the Instawork app. Make sure your email is current to ensure you receive important communications (including your tax documents).
How to edit your email:
Open the Instawork app
Tap the profile icon on the bottom right
Tap on the gear icon on the top right to access your settings
Tap on "Account information"
Tap "Edit" next to your email address.
⚠️ Important Security Note: When you change your email address, your account is subjected to a 24-hour temporary hold as a security measure to prevent unauthorized access. During this time, you will be unable to accept new shifts or jobs until the hold is lifted. Changes to your email address can take up to 24 hours to take effect.
What to do if you can't access your old email
If you no longer have access to the email address on your account, contact Instawork support through in-app chat:
Open the Instawork app
Tap the profile icon on the bottom right
Tap "Help" or "Support"
Start a chat with the support team
Let them know you need to change your email and can't access your old one
You'll need to complete a verification process to confirm your identity. The support team will walk you through the required steps.
Your account will still be subject to the 24-hour security hold after your email is changed.
Why won't the app let me change my email address?
To protect your account, Engineering has implemented a 7-day security waiting period for email updates if you have recently changed your information or if your account has been inactive for more than 30 days. This is a standard security measure to prevent unauthorized access. If you are seeing a restriction, please wait 7 days before attempting the update again.
