Verifying or editing your email address

Make sure your email is current to receive important communications.

You can manage your personal information, including email address, directly in the Instawork app. Make sure your email is current to ensure you receive important communications (including your tax documents).

How to edit your email:

  1. Open the Instawork app

  2. Tap the profile icon on the bottom right

  3. Tap on the gear icon on the top right to access your settings

  4. Tap on "Account information"

  5. Tap "Edit" next to your email address.

⚠️ Important Security Note: When you change your email address, your account is subjected to a 24-hour temporary hold as a security measure to prevent unauthorized access. During this time, you will be unable to accept new shifts or jobs until the hold is lifted. Changes to your email address can take up to 24 hours to take effect.

What to do if you can't access your old email

If you no longer have access to the email address on your account, contact Instawork support through in-app chat:

  1. Open the Instawork app

  2. Tap the profile icon on the bottom right

  3. Tap "Help" or "Support"

  4. Start a chat with the support team

  5. Let them know you need to change your email and can't access your old one

You'll need to complete a verification process to confirm your identity. The support team will walk you through the required steps.

Your account will still be subject to the 24-hour security hold after your email is changed.


Why won't the app let me change my email address?

To protect your account, Instawork may temporarily restrict email changes due to recent profile updates, logging in from a new device, or pending verifications. These restrictions typically resolve within 24-48 hours, but in some cases, a 7-day waiting period may apply. If you are seeing a restriction, please wait the specified time before attempting the update again.
