All Instawork Professionals must have insurance coverage in order to perform services during their Instawork shifts.
Professionals are covered by Occupational Accident Insurance on 1099 shifts (i.e., when providing services as an independent contractor of Instawork) or Workers' Compensation Insurance on W2 shifts (i.e., when providing services as an employee of Advantage Workforce Services, LLC).
Please note that this only applies to shifts booked through the Instawork app. Work outside of the Instawork platform is not covered.
In the event of an accident during a shift booked through Instawork, here's what you need to do:
For 1099 shifts:

In the event of an accident during a shift with Instawork, here's what you need to do:
1 - Seek treatment for medical emergencies
Please go to the nearest urgent care or hospital in the event of a medical emergency
2 - Contact Instawork Reach out to us via the app to let us know you've been injured and let us know if you have questions about your options and insurance coverage. You will be provided with a form to complete. After the form is submitted, you will receive a call from an insurance agent within 48 hours of submission.
For W2 shifts:
We provide every Instawork Professional who work W2 shifts with workers' compensation during their shifts. Please note that this only applies to W2 shifts that are booked with the Instawork app. Work outside of the Instawork platform is not covered.
In the event of an accident during a W2 shift with Instawork, here's what you need to do:
1 - Seek treatment
Seek treatment immediately for your injury.
2 - Contact Instawork
Reach out to us via the app to let us know you've been injured, and we will help you file a claim for workers' compensation. You will be provided with links to forms that need to be completed within 24 hours of your injury. If no medical attention is required, please report the injury and complete the 'Refusal of Doctor's Care" form.
