What if a Professional arrives late to work?

You're only billed for the hours a Pro worked.

Updated over a week ago

At Instawork, we understand punctuality is crucial for your business. To help ensure Professionals arrive to shifts on time, Instawork sends reminder notifications to the Pros scheduled to work. Still, life happens and occasionally a Pro may run late. Here's how to handle late arrivals:

Check their location

To provide you with visibility to a Pro’s arrival time, Pros enable location tracking 90 minutes before the shift start time. You can track scheduled Pros location to see where they are and to predict their arrival time. Learn more.

Contact them

24 hours before a shift starts, Pro contact information becomes available in the shift details both in the mobile app and on the Platform’s web-based dashboard. If a Pro looks like they are running late, you can give them a call to check in. Learn more.

Managing late arrivals

  • Clock them in when they arrive
If a Pro arrives late to your shift, you are only billed for the actual time worked once they clock-in via the Instawork app. You can review and confirm arrival time and hours worked on the timesheet when the shift is over. Learn more.

  • Late policy
If a Pro arrives more than 10 minutes late to a shift, you may send them home without being charged. To do this, you must mark the timesheet accordingly. Learn more.
