Building your professional network on Instawork
Growing your connections on Instawork can lead to more work opportunities and better experiences. This article explains the benefits of expanding your network and guides you on adding and managing your connections.
Benefits of a larger network
Having more connections on Instawork helps you:
- Find more shifts: See which shifts your connections are working
- Get shift coverage: Easily transfer shifts to people you trust
- Build your reputation: Work alongside people who know your skills
- Stay informed: Learn about good businesses from your connections
- Feel more comfortable: Work with familiar faces
How to add connections to your network
1. Add Pros you've worked with
- After completing a shift, look for the "Add Connection" option
- Tap on a Pro's profile and select "Add Connection"
- Accept connection requests from other Pros in your notifications
2. Find Pros from your contacts
- Tap the "Network" tab in the app
- Select "Find Connections"
- Allow access to your contacts to see who's on Instawork
- Send connection requests to people you know
3. Connect through shift groups
- When in a shift group chat, tap on a Pro's name
- View their profile and select "Add Connection"
- Build relationships through group messages
Managing your network
Sometimes you may need to remove someone from your network. You should consider removing a connection if:
- They send inappropriate messages
- They make you uncomfortable
- You no longer wish to communicate with them
- The professional relationship isn't working out
Remember that removing someone from your network prevents them from messaging you in the app, but they may still be assigned to the same shifts as you.
You can remove connections from your network by:
1. Going to Profile > My Network
2. Selecting the person you want to remove
3. Tapping the three dots in the upper right corner
4. Selecting "Remove connection"
Reporting inappropriate behavior
If someone in your network behaves inappropriatley:
1. Tell them their comments are not welcome, if you feel comfortable doing so
2. Remove them from your network using the steps above
3. Report the incident to Instawork Support through the app
Remember that quality connections are more valuable than quantity. Focus on building a network of reliable professionals you enjoy working with.
