Your Presence Matters - Being Reliable
Your Presence Matters - Being Reliable

Tardies, cancellations, leaving early, and no-shows affect all of us.

Updated over a week ago

Our goal is to provide economic opportunities for Instawork's Professionals and Partners. We're able to accomplish this goal by consistently being reliable and operating with empathy, trust, and candor.

Every time you are tardy (arrive late) to a shift, cancel your shift last-minute or don't show up for work, we lose opportunities for both our professionals and partners. It's our responsibility to be mindful of our colleagues' time and recognize how our actions impact everyone in our community. Being punctual, and consistently reliable will get you better access to future shifts.

To encourage reliability, here are guidelines to consider when planning to work shifts:

Avoid Being Tardy

  • Clocking into your shift 15 minutes after the shift start time will be considered a major tardy and lowers your overall performance rating, which may prevent you from getting access to shifts in the future.

  • Your earnings will be calculated based on the time you clock-in through the app and start working. Arriving late will impact your earnings.

  • Clocking in before your shift start time may be considered dishonest, which can result in low ratings and being blocklisted from future shifts with our partners.

  • Anticipated delays in transportation to your scheduled shifts due to traffic or weather will not excuse major tardies, please plan accordingly.

Not Confirming Your Shift On-Time

  • Not confirming your shift in the app will be considered an auto-cancellation.

  • The auto-cancellation will increase your cancellation rate.

  • High cancellation rates will negatively affect your access to future shifts.

  • Disqualifies you from Instawork Top Pro rewards for the next month.

Canceling Your Shift

  • Canceling your shift in-app will increase your cancellation rate.

  • Cancelling a shift after the scheduled start time will result in a no-show.

  • High cancellation rates will negatively affect your access to future shifts.

  • Disqualifies you from Instawork Top Pro rewards for the next month.

  • Late cancels can lead to suspensions and removal from future shifts. It can also lead to deactivation in extreme scenarios

Not Showing Up for Your Shift

  • You will be removed from all of your upcoming shifts and suspended from the platform.

  • Frequent no-shows can lead to permanent deactivation from the platform.

  • Your overall performance rating will be negatively impacted, which will affect getting access to future shifts.

  • Disqualifies you from Instawork Top Pro rewards for the next month.

Leaving Your Shift Early

  • Leaving a shift early, especially without Partner approval may lead to suspension and/or permanent deactivation from the platform.

  • If you need to leave early for an emergency, make sure always to let the supervisor know, and reach out to our Support team to provide proper documentation (where applicable).

  • If you have an issue on your shift, make sure always to reach out to our Support team to investigate properly.

Excessive or Fraudulent Breaks

  • Claiming to take a break without actually taking a break may lead to suspension and/or permanent deactivation from the platform.

  • If the shift details allow for a break, and Partner is not letting you take a break, please escalate to Support so we can address this with the Partner.

Additional Guidelines

  • If you know you can't make it to a scheduled shift, please cancel your shift in-app immediately. Last-minute cancellations may result in your profile being blocklisted from the partner, losing access to more shifts in the future or a suspension.

  • Arriving to a shift location with no intention of working, asking the Partner for clock in and out codes to avoid penalties, will be considered a no-show.

  • Do not contact the partner to cancel your shift. Use the Instawork app to cancel or get your shift covered as quickly as possible.
